Hey, y’all!
My name is Katalina Gille, and I wear many hats—writer, artist, and of course, esthetician. In June of 2023 I graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a BFA in production design. But you know something? I crossed that stage in a wheelchair. See, just a few short months prior, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and it was kicking my butt! But despite the fact that I could barely drag myself out of bed, I did so every day just to do my hair and put on a full face of makeup. That’s why, a mere six months after graduation, I enrolled at Elan Preparatory Institute of Esthetics to try to uplift others above hard times through the healing power of beauty.
But you wanna know something else about me? I’m a lifelong writer—I’ve been spewing stories, poems, and unhinged ramblings since before I could spell my name. That’s why I bring you this blog, Storyface Beauty, to empower, educate, and restore you. I may not be physically with you in the treatment room, but I hope to reach you anyway through this site, where I’ll share both textbook knowledge from Elan Prep and my continued learnings, as well as tips garnered from lived experience on how to rise above when you feel at war with your mind or body—and how to look utterly fabulous doing so.
May your pain never dull your sparkle.
